Join me on my publishing journey...

When did you start writing?
I started writing as a shy teenager and I was hooked by how easily I could express myself. I wrote short prose and poetry. Poetry resonated with me most at the time. It was an exciting way to explore ideas and emotions in a safe space.
What Happened Next?
I studied creative writing as part of my BA, and my writing started to shift to larger prose pieces. The first few drafts of The Queen's Dark Ambition were a few small chapters, an idea for a novel.
I can relate to a number of writers who don't find a path in the traditional publishing market. My novel sat, unloved and unread for years. I still found writing enjoyable, but without readers, for my writing lost it's magic.
More recently self publishing became an option, not just for my own agency, but also as testimony to the many aspiring and successful self published writers out there! I had to give it a go.
I've learnt a lot in the past year, not least that my writing has evolved over the years. It was hard to edit something from when I started, but I believe I've transformed it, keeping its essence and my passion alive.
For me, writing has always been about finding my voice and I hope you're encouraged to do the same!
Find your voice, know your mind and be heard.
